Sweet & savory snacks

 ∙ Gluten-free & vegan∙

Powerballs are the perfect snack for small appetites or on the go, as they are practical to take with you and keep you full for a long time thanks to the nutrient-rich ingredients. They keep blood sugar levels stable, which has a positive effect on cravings, among other things - because these are sure to be avoided with a snack like this! I have only used natural ingredients for my Powerballs and no industrial sugar alternatives. The delicious medjool dates alone give them their light sweetness. The numerous nuts, kernels and seeds provide you with essential fatty acids that your body needs for many metabolic processes. If you would like to find out more about healthy fats, I can highly recommend my latest blog post "Not all fats are the same". Now I hope you enjoy trying it out and have an energy-packed day😊

Ingredients

  • 50g macadamia nuts
  • 50g cashew nuts
  • 30g pumpkin seeds
  • 30g hemp seeds
  • 30g buckwheat flakes
  • 30g tigernut flakes
  • 2.5 tbsp sunflower puree

--> Other nuts, kernels and seeds can also be used - there is no right or wrong!

This is how it's done

  1. Finely chop the macadamia nuts, cashew nuts and pumpkin seeds and place in a bowl.
  2. Pit the dates and chop into small pieces or puree in a blender. Add to the bowl together with the hemp seeds, buckwheat flakes, tigernut flakes, sunflower seed puree and avocado oil. Mix everything together with your hands until you have a compact, malleable mixture.
  3. With wet hands, shape the mixture into approx. 10 golf ball-sized balls and enjoy.
  4. They will keep for approx. 4 weeks in a well-sealed storage tin in the fridge.
